More than a little capacity crunch in Arkansas

SONAR Key Market Insights: Little Rock, Arkansas

Highlights

Little Rock, Arkansas, sees capacity lighten compared to early June, but it's still tight compared to the rest of the country. With a rejection rate of 12.85%, a 1.64% week-over-week increase, it’s double the national average of 6.12%.

Contributing to the tightening capacity is the increase in outbound tender volumes, rising 10.76% w/w.

The rising OTVI and OTRI will put upward pressure on spot rates. Spot rates might be lower than those of July 1,but  rates will be elevated compared to earlier in the week.

Quotable

“While it is true that market share for domestic producers has declined over the past few decades, it is difficult to make the case that Mexico is flooding the United States with excessively underpriced tomatoes.”
